Spatial Information Custodianship Program (NEW)

Custodianship of spatial information is the act of ensuring appropriate care in the collection, storage and maintenance of the information.

The Victorian Spatial Council (VSC) is implementing a Custodianship Program to promote the principles of custodianship and increase the number of datasets being managed under formal custodianship arrangements. The first series of Fact Sheets and FAQs have been developed. These Web Pages will be further developed in the near future to provide further information and guidance.

"Data sharing can be a Win-Win for everyone"

A new drive to make spatial data more available and more accurate is underway through the Custodianship Program. The August 2007 edition of Landmark incorporated an article outlining the benefits of participation in the program.
