The next Newtech conference is being held on Thursday, 29th May 2008 at the Benalla Performing Arts & Convention Centre (BPACC), 57 Samaria Road, Benalla.

Newtech conferences are organised and hosted by Spatial Information Infrastructure (SII) of the Department of Sustainability and Environment. Newtech conferences have been providing people across rural and regional Victoria with information on the latest technologies in land information and land management for the past ten years.

Going from strength to strength, the Benalla Newtech conference promises to be a not-to-be-missed event.

The program features speakers covering a wide range of topics including a presentation on the CFA pilot project EIMS (Emergency Management Systems), a Senior Analyst from Victoria Police presenting on Geographic Profiling, a presentation on Hume Emergency Management Mapping Application, an update on Spatial industry directions in Victoria, Australia and Internationally from the Director of Spatial Information Infrastructure (DSE) and much much more.

This presentation will introduce the EmerGeo platform and describe how the WA Fire Emergency Services Authority (FESA) implement a true cross agency platform for sharing a common operating picture (COP) for emergency planning and response. The presentation will also describe other agencies implementing EmerGeo.
