Search for a property using an address or a parcel using a Standard Parcel Identifier (SPI). The resulting Property Report identifies the relevant Local Government Area, Water business, Power distributor, Planning zones and overlays (and more). The Property Report is available for view or download.

The Victorian Property and Parcel information search is a replacement for the Land Channel Property report search.This search service provides you with quick and easy access to a summary of property information.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the search format is: street number, then the street name, the suburb or locality name and finally the postcode. NOTE : You may not need to provide all this information before a match is found.

Start typing your address into the Global Search tool. As you progressively add more information the search results are refined (by default only the first five search results are displayed). When your address of interest appears in the drop-down list select it with your mouse (NOTE: do not press enter).

For example, if you wanted to search for 123 Smith Street Thornbury 3071, a match is found after "123 smi" is entered.

Yes. A Crown description is commonly one "level" - eg. Allotment 1. It can also have two "levels" - eg. Allotment 3 Section 2. The simplest way to search using a crown description is to enter the information as it appears on the land title. For example, allot 3 sec 2 Parish Bagshot.

There are two other search methods. They require the use of the “township” or “parish” keyword.

Option 1 Township keyword. The search format is: "township" keyword, township name, then the allotment number and possibly a section number. NOTE : You may not need to provide all this information before a match is found.

The Property PDF contain more detailed information about your search result.

The Property PDF includes:

  • a detailed map of the Property or Parcel selected
  • information about the Parcel and Property
  • local government area and council property number
  • directory references
  • electoral information – legislative council and assembly
  • utilities such as Water businesses and Power distributors
  • information about Planning Zones and Overlays – which is also information available from Planning PDF

The property PDF contains a map that shows the "approximate" dimensions of the property you are interested in. For more accurate dimensions you will need a copy of the property's title.

Enter the property address into the search bar above and choose the correct address that appears under the search bar. On the next page you’ll find a summary of property information about your interested property. For more detailed planning information select the Planning PDF. You can also view this information in VicPlan.
