A stylised image of 3 different maps with the main heading 'Welcome to the new 4-in-1 LASSI. Subtext on the 3 different map sections read 'Property enquiry - what it is', 'VICNAMES enquiry - what it's called' and 'SMES enquiry - where it connects.'.

27 February 2026

The newly modernised LASSI platform is now live, and brings together 4 existing mapping services into one. You can now access LASSI, Survey Marks Enquiry Service (SMES), VICNAMES and LASSI-SPEAR through a single, streamlined experience.

If you’ve used LASSI before, you’ll find the core functions familiar. What’s new is a more consistent, intuitive and reliable experience. The modernised LASSI delivers a stable, future-ready platform that enhances usability in day-to-day work and can continue to improve over time.

Designed to work out in the field

LASSI now works seamlessly across desktop, tablet and mobile devices, with no need for separate mobile versions or workarounds.

This means you get the same experience whether you’re in the office or out in the field. Registered SMES users can now create new submissions or update survey mark information on site.

Smoother day-to-day workflows

Tasks in LASSI are more consistent and predictable, with clearer guidance and fewer steps.

The platform now runs on a modern, cloud-based system, improving performance, stability and security.

Built‑in help and support

A new self-help Wiki is now available with the modernised LASSI. The wiki offers step-by-step guidance and troubleshooting in one place, making it easier to find help when you need it.

What hasn’t changed

While LASSI looks and feels new, the tools and information users rely on remain the same.

You can still:

  • search and view Crown and freehold parcels
  • work with survey marks and place names
  • rely on the same data, permissions and established workflows.

The difference is a clearer and more consistent experience across the platform.

The LASSI modernisation is being delivered in partnership with Secure Electronic Registries Victoria (SERV)Veris and Escient.
