Vicmap hit a milestone in July when the 150,000th change request was created in the Vicmap Editing Service (VES). Ambulance Victoria submitted the request – an address update – helping to ensure an accurate triple zero location verification.

VES enables authorised Vicmap users to notify the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning about mapping updates and opportunities to improve data accuracy.

It helps ensure continual improvement of Vicmap through efficient digital data supply and a robust change request process.

VES is available to authorised users from local and state government organisations. Vicmap Spatial Services acknowledges the ongoing commitment of agencies and individuals that provide timely and authoritative data to help maintain and improve the Vicmap Core Spatial Datasets.

Vicmap has been part of the state’s primary mapping system since 1975. Its suite of individual datasets forms the foundation of Victoria’s primary mapping and spatial information systems.
