There are several datasets in VicmapTM that have features that take their location from parcel boundaries, including:

  • Vicmap Address
  • Vicmap Admin
  • Vicmap Crown Land Tenure
  • Vicmap Features of Interest
  • Vicmap Hydro
  • Vicmap Index
  • Vicmap Transport

In the Integration stage, we will incorporate the new location of parcel boundaries into the VicmapTM layers.  

There are many data products not maintained by Land Use Victoria that also derive their location from parcel boundaries. Other datasets include local government assets; utilities; services; major infrastructure and so on.  

We are working closely with all our stakeholders to ensure that they are kept up to date with changes to the digital cadastre, and that they’re supported during the transition process.

Stage 1
Back capture

This stage involves capturing and checking information from plans and surveys, and storing this information in a consistent digital format.
Stage 2
Adjustment

This stage will calculate position and uncertainty of each parcel boundary from the back-captured data and Victoria’s survey control network.
Stage 3
Integration

This stage will cascade the changes in parcel boundary positions through other VicmapTM layers and publish the upgraded digital cadastre.
Stage 4
Automation

This stage will develop automated processes to maintain and improve the upgraded digital cadastre and Vicmap™ products over time.
